Foods that will help you to lower the cancer risk include citrus fruits, broccoli, cinnamon, turmeric, garlic, tomatoes, and flaxseed. How do these foods lower the risk of getting cancer? To find out, let’s get into the detail of these anti-cancer foods below.

  1.       Citrus Fruits

Citrus fruits are well known for keeping the immune system strong. However, only a few people actually know that they also contain anti-cancer properties. Citrus fruits are a rich source of vitamin C and antioxidants that help in preventing cancer.

Now you might be thinking which citrus fruit is best? All citrus fruits are best for preventing cancer. Fruits like lemons, limes, grapefruits, and oranges all contribute to lowering the risk of cancer. You can eat this fruit with different variations.

  1.       Broccoli

Are you a vegetarian? If yes! Then here is another reason to enjoy this healthy vegetable. Broccoli is well known for its health benefits. It contains sulforaphane which is an anti-cancer agent and also fights against the tumor. Besides this anti-cancer agent, broccoli is also rich in vitamins, magnesium, and folic acid.

Eating broccoli fresh and less cooked has more benefits as important nutrients remain in it.

It is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. Cinnamon activates the detoxifying enzymes that prevent the growth of cancer.

Use at least one or half teaspoon of cinnamon daily for preventing these chronic diseases.

Like cinnamon, turmeric also contains medicinal and anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric includes curcumin which is an important ingredient of turmeric. This ingredient helps in reducing the cancer cells. Besides fighting against cancer, turmeric is also helpful for relieving any stress that causes depression and anxiety.

You can use turmeric in your food or simply mix it in the hot milk and drink it before going to bed.

Like citrus fruits, garlic is also helpful for boosting the immune system. The importance of garlic in our daily diet cannot be denied. It contains the element named allicin that fights against the cancer cells. Garlic is also helpful for fighting against common flu. It contains anti-inflammatory properties therefore it is helpful for overcoming bad cholesterol and poor heart’s health.

Add garlic to your food, besides this, you can also take garlic tea for keeping yourself safe from cancer and other diseases.

  1.       Tomatoes

Tomatoes are the favorite fruits of many people and therefore they love eating tomato ketchup. Although processed ketchup online increases the risk of cancer, obesity, and other chronic diseases. Therefore it is important to eat organic fruit. One of the elements in the tomato named lycopene helps in fighting cancer. The same element is also responsible for the red color of the tomato.

Eat 2 tomatoes daily in the form of salad or you can add it to your dish while cooking.
